I'm curious about the carbine that Al just posted on the for-sale page.
1. Why would a 1889 carbine with such a high SN have a slotted screw buckhorn sight instead of a Buffington? Doesn't make sense as an arsenal replacement - maybe private owner job? and 2. Why would it be designated 77/84, not 79/84? Makes me wonder how the butt-trap is drilled.....I don't think I've ever seen a dual model like this.
