Yes, that is not a common scabbard at all, but still should not have been "missed". Only 1000 were made, and they are quite fragile. That is the only scabbard which is technically "correct" for the iron guard knife, which was issued with the M1880 triangular rod-bayonet rifles.

A large dealer in Montana presently has one for sale (scabbard only - no knife) at $1800. Granted, it IS nicer than mine, but certainly not 5X-6X nicer, and nowhere near pristine.

Look at Al's stolen stuff for a REALLY nice set - but also note the price, and that was several years ago.
