Ordnance, during this period, issued horse equipments, not quartermaster. Each soldier had a number, as listed on the muster roll, and his equipment was to be so marked, not including weaponry. It had nothing to due with glanders. Blankets, uniforms, leather accoutrements and the like were to be marked.
