Wow! You wouldn't happen to have the serial number would you? Mine is 43584 - which is "close" to LBH 43617

I have no idea what that symbol means (besides the almost too obvious "sun") to an Indian. I will say that every one I have seen appears IDENTICAL, indicating that it must have been done as a stamp or brand, which would tend to make one think that at some close point in time they were all in the same place, or were somehow (at varying times) all marked with the same tool. I haven't actually measured, mine is faint, but the rays seem to be spaced with something better than eyeball precision - whether that rules out native work, I cannot say. Six-pointed stars are easy to construct - five takes more thought.

I'll pretty much be away from my computer until Wednesday, so lack of followup on my part should not be taken as lack of interest.
