Re: trying to track info on springfield

Back when I was teaching & got so tired of class prep that I needed a break, I'd scour Gunbroker and AuctionArms for serial numbers. My best hit was a TD carbine issued to an Indian scout (sold through Al's web site for a decent profit). I still have a 10CAV Colt SAA, an M1903 issued to North China Marines, and a TD rifle issued to 20th Kansas Infantry. I also found an M1896 Krag carbine (sent to John at OldGuns) that had been issued to 2CAV. That latter rifle has an incredibly NON-informative SRS letter; I wish I'd saved the money on that one. Anyhow, I just wanted y'all to know that there is another serial-number-check addict out in Internet Land. (Oh, also, I'd really like to find pretty much anything else from 10CAV or, especially, 20th Kansas.)
