I have some records that mention serial numbers... and enlisted men's journals that have some entire companies. I'm sure that there are unpublished officer records located almost anywhere that have this info there.. jUst takes many people to fret them out and reveal what and where. I've allowed some of the early guns"carbines" to be noted now.. and there is another source for quite a few more I have not had time to look for. Seems many people only want the "custer" numbers. i have a bunch more records I'll try to post up later for those that care about later rifles of the infantry. They are unit and regiment specific though.
