some may rake me over the coals for this info... But in a tank, muratic acid and steel/iron shavings combined with the acid (a large cup full is all you need) the acid will create fumes that will turn your shiny barrel a nice brown patina! Everything metal will turn a brown. Actually looks pretty good and old when done right!

What do you have to lose! :)
