OR you could just use BP substitutes such as Pyrodex. If you already reload, jump into the 45-70 cartridge. Used presses are on Ebay all the time. Dies are not that expensive. I use regular Large Rifle primers for Pryodex. You can use the Magnum primers but I have found no difference in performance.

I use Hodgden's Pyrodex & it works GREAT. No problems with the powder & very easy to clean up. The kick is the same as BP but you can actually see the target after the shot & don't have to wait for the smoke to clear. Brings a crowd to your booth at the range :)

I know I have offended some DIE HARD BP folks but this works for me & I love the smell of burning powder in the mourning.

I also load Smokeless loads for hunting deer in Missouri. 14.5 grains of TrailBoss & a 330 grain bullet will bring down any deer.
