I knew it was not the ammo. Been shooting 45/70's since 1985 now. All originals for me and as close to original specks for the ammo as I could ever get. Never had a problem with the original guns.. and never had ejection problems with a fired cartridge. COurse I keep the guns clean. I knew the issue that was called to me about was the repop arms many re-enactors are using now. THey were not too happy with the factory loads I made for them.. said they kicked too hard and were too loud. SO they are going back to something like a 38 special or less.. perhaps a .22 cal kick to give the new folks a lesson on what the arms were not way back then.
