Fred

Not sure I know the whole story on the painting but the white man "might" be Quanah Parker or an allusion to him. I believe he was at the fight. Have to go back & reread the last book I read on the fight that was supposed to be the "Last Word".

When I was a youth we had a Scout Cabin next to the church that had a VERY large rendering of the Last Stand. It did not have any Budweiser ads & was framed with a decorative wood. I would say that it was about 4x8 feet. I have no idea if it is still in the building now. They do not have a troop anymore. Neighborhood has gone to hell. I always have wanted a Last Stand litho & have seen several in shops but would not part with the funds to buy one.

Happy Birthday America!

Ernie
