Thanks for the feedback Bob. I'm actually banking on the fact that this stock is correct in as much as it may be one of the 250 replacement stocks sent to Fort Abraham Lincoln in late 1876 or early 1877 to replace those broken in battle or in the field. If it's not one of those stocks,she's going back to Florida for sure. The Carbine configuration,early serial number,the special stock, and if everything else is correct except those items previously mentioned could make this a keeper.We'll see as there are some red flags detected to date.

As for the one mentioned that will be auctioned in two weeks, I'm hopeful but realistically nobody is going to beat your recent find. That was really somewthing for the ages.I do like the looks of the gun that's coming up on the auction .It looks good.Yours looks great!!!! Thanks again guys. Sincerely, Mike Collins
