Re: question on carbine front sight

Tom, Thank you for your bit of condescending advice concerning 03's and Krags. Rest assured I know quite a bit about 03's having built up a nice collection over several years. Do I own the Poyer book on 03's?-- no I don't , for the reasons you mention. Being relatively new to Trapdoors, I was foolish enough to think that his book on Trapdoors might be OK for an inexpensive reference to supplement the other established books.. Why would I think that?-- well I noticed that Dick Hosmer had authored the first book in the series and was writing a third. Because I have the highest respect for Dick Hosmer, I thought his involvement in the series might assure its accuracy. As I now know from Dick's posts, he has had little success assuring the accuracy of the Poyer volume.

Frankly, I do not understand how my pointing out a contrary reference on the front sight distance was cause for you to be "offended". I have no ties to Poyer and if he is wrong, just say so. It would have been a lesson to all of us. Regardless, I am through discussing this and intend to move on. Bill M.
