Thanks Dick and Mike!

I agree 100% Dick! Just some oil on it is all I am going to do. I believe Indians often removed the buttplates on their weapons...so I see no need to put that back on.

I need to next check with BBHC, and see how much information I can get on this carbine. They would not discuss it at all with me this week, as it is against there policies to give out any information on a consignment piece once it goes back to a consignor. I am hoping that the consignor will release BBHC.

The Samuel Colt pistol with William Cody's bust engraved on the ivory grips was interesting also...only 1 bid at $10,000...did not make reserve...I would have figured that would have received a lot more attention?

Thanks Bob
