Re: 1873 First Model Carbine

A little confusion here. While talking with this old guy months ago, he told me his gun was SN 36,508 but he sent me his photos and they are all 36,509. I dated my notes 2-1-12. He also has trapdoor Carbine SN 14,652. Both have long wrist stocks and all other first model features. I think he read the number wrong to me when we were on the phone. Or hell, I could have writen it down wrong too. Anyway, the gun in the pictures is 36,509. It has the star.

Other Trapdoor Carbines pictured in the article are SN's 35,474, 36,461, 41,290, 41,427, 43,540. Sincerely, Michael H. Collins
