You are probably right on the serial number. It could possibly be a 2 on the second number. I am not to worried about it as I am not a collector. I shoot and hunt with my rifles.
The first 2 I have had for a long time. This one with the rusted receiver is a barrel I picked up over the internet. I built this carbine from parts I have picked up over the years and the barrel I just recently purchased to complete the project. I didn't mind that it was a cut down rifle barrel as I needed a carbine barrel anyway.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make the serial number readable without grinding off the rust?
