I looked VERY briefly through Al's 1909 SA Museum book, and nothing leapt out at me - there a few entries for M1873 Cadets, but I did not find a SPAR index, per se. Perhaps he has one, but I'm sure it is a huge list covering items other than guns.
3638 would POSSIBLY make a good case - the other numbers are in the ranges where many carbines also occur. For example I have eight 331xx (including 33123) and six 332xx (including 33207) such logged. If nothing else, this thread has reinforced the point about the dangers of playing the "numbers racket".
