Hi Frank, You are very welcome. I don't shoot competetively either. I just enjoy experiencing what the Frontier Soldier felt when this rifle was in his hands. I re-produced the set of three of Captain Blunt's skirmish targets, and his "A" target and shoot at those. Lots of fun! I also like shooting long distance with my M-1884. Estimating distance and getting on target is lots of fun, especially when it is more than 500 yards. Croft Barker has a couple of nice books out. They are, "The Single Shot Military Rifle Handbook" and, "Restoring and Shooting the Antique Single Shot Rifle". In one of them Croft tells how he refurbished an 1866 Springfield. Well good luck, Frank and happy shooting. Regards, Ken
