Hi Frank, I don't live anywhere near you, but I am willing to help you in any way I can. You did have a Merry Christmas! Your wife is a sweetheart. If you are wanting to shoot your rifle, invest in the proper loading equipment, and learn to load the ammunition it was intended for. Go to Wolf's Western Traders and have Pat send you a copy of her and her late husbands book, "Loading Cartridges for the Original .45 Springfield Rifle and Carbine". Throw yourself into this book when you get it. You will find that the Springfield rifles are quite fun to shoot, and when used with properly loaded black powder ammunition, are extremely accurate. "A good rifle is only as good as the man behind it". I am always willing to help out a new Springfield shooter. And welcome to the world of blackpowder. Regards, Ken
