Only if it passed - with 100% score - a RIGOROUS vetting by someone who knew EXACTLY what to look for. The lone cadet listed for 1874 was supposedly made in the fourth quarter. 20xxx would be in the second quarter. And, even if it passed said review, how would you KNOW it was THE first?

Not trying to pick a fight here - just to be reasonable.

Perhaps you could describe your gun, or better yet, put up some good pictures on a hosting site - this board doesn't support pics, sadly. What is date on lockplate? How many grooves in barrel? What numbers are on right side of rear sight base? What form are the sling swivel bases on trigger guard bow - round, or teardrop shaped?
