Belgian Allin Conversion rifles

Posted by Paul Breakey on Saturday, 24 December 2011, at 5:51 p.m.

I have a Belgian proofed rifle using Allin design components. It has a US stock with patches in the receiver area, US 1863 lock work. Receiver, barrel and rear sight are of new Belgian manufacture. There are no visible makers marks. I have a full rifle and my friend has a complete receiver/barrel missng wood.

According to Edward A. Hull's article "Belgian "Allin" Trapdoors" article in the August 1996 issue of "The Gun Report", Allin set up a company in Belgium to make rifles on his design. Caliber unknown, date unknown, number unknown and usage unknown.

Have you any information/sources on these oddballs. I think I can provide pictures. Thank you, Paul Breakey
