Hi Tripper, I just stumbled on to this one. I would like to elaborate on the ammunition. If you want to shoot your rifle, my recommendation is to stick with blackpowder loadings. There are some commercial smokeless loadings out there that are NOT SAFE to use in your rifle. Stay with light loads of smokeless, but I would like to caution that a steady diet of jacketed bullets will eventually ruin your bore. There are some commercially loaded blackpowder loadings with lead bullets out there. One being Goex, and some of these others designed for the cowboy action shooters. Enjoy shooting your rifle, but be careful about what you feed it. If in doubt, ask. You run the risk of destroying yourself and your rifle if you put something in there that has higher pressures than what the breech can stand. Good shooting! Regards, Ken
