I have owned about a dozen over the years and 10 have had cupped rods and 2 have had flat surfaces. The most recent is an excellent 66 that appears to have all early features but only one HSH cartouche (I assume a rebuild for the Franco Prussian war)and it has a rod that looks good and screws in as it should but the surface is flat. It and one other that I have seen has a strange looking P (at least I think its a P, but no circle around it) instead of an N as you usually see near the trigger gaurd. Thanks Chris
