Time flies when you're having fun! I'll be 74 next month, but I have as much enthusiasm as ever. I may never take the whole collection (60-75 rifles) out again for display, however. It's a LOT of work. I've always hated guys who collected pistols!
There was one particular gun show, in Vallejo CA, that I attended four times a year for over 30 years. Lots of memories - but, I don't go there any more; too many ghosts, too many friends no longer there. Granted, I've moved out of the area, but it is still less than two hours away (used to be a half-hour; in fact I was sometimes known to go home and return, either for "show and tell" or to get some money or trade stock).
Sorry to hear the end of your story. Do you have the actual number - I'd like to consider adding it to the registry. No names, of course.
