Sorry, I missed the point that apparently your wood has been shortened so that the front of the stock is no longer there. And, since the special sights are gone, too, they cannot be verified, either. The rear sight was of M1901 form, but was graduated to 2100 yards, rather than the 2000 of the standard 30".

I'm sure you're disappointed that the rifle is not the rare one, but, you can ALSO be thankful that you are not holding the remains of an unfortunate choice made long ago!
