Re: Slugging Procedure

I used a lead fishing weight just larger than the bore. Then, using a wood dowel, pushed it thru till it dropped out the breach end. The slug will push quite easily. If your bore has an uneven number of lands and grooves, to measure actual bore diameter, I used a piece of paper, wrapped it around the slug very tightly and measured the diameter. Then, measure the thickness of the paper, multiply it by 2 and subtract from diameter measurement. The bore of my pristene M1884 measured .457.
