Cy, the cartouche is RGS in an oval the size of the ESA oval. These guns have the circled R and most often are cadet rifles without a rod lock. Sometimes the R is faint and the leg of the R is difficult to see. However, it can be identified as an R because the letter does not have the downward curving portion mid-way on the left side of the letter.
