Re: Bayonet Won't Fit

Hi Mr. Hosmer, I'll check it carefully tonight when I get home (they won't let me bring my trapdoor and bayonet to work...can you imagine!!) and, based on your guidance above, check out exactly how it is fitting. It seemed to fit fairly loosely until reaching the end. I don't remember though if the hang up was because of something bottoming out or an interference tightening at the end. I remember there being about an 1/8" gap between the end of the groove and the front edge of the sight mount. For the clamping ring to be able to turn and clear the back of the sight mount, the bayonet needs to drop that additional 1/8", so the front edge of the sight mount is sitting flush with the end of the groove I agree it does seem strange that the bayonet would be left "half done" , yet the inside of mine matches the photo in the NCP almost exactly. All the other measurements lined out well, but I only checked them with a ruler and not a micrometer. I'll mic them this weekend and see what that tells us. Thanks again for the help. -Steve W.
