I have an 1884 Springfield rifle with serial #127799 on top immediately next to the hammer. On the top of the barrel is the letter "A". On the side of the barrel there are a series of marks beginning with a horizontal elongated triangle followed, in order, by the letter "P", an horizontal American Eagle, and a horizontal letter "E" superimposed on a horizontal letter "T". The top of the stock near the buttplate is marked NG 50. Any informaTION will be appreciated. Thank you.
