This '86 was issued to the Cincinnati Home Guard 1n 1917 after seeing service in the revived 7th Cav. in the late '80's. Several show up ina Yard photo for Company T of the Cincinnati Home Guard. The plate on the buttstock with 19 on it probably has "made by H. Wright & Sons Cinc., Ohio". It is identical to several others I've had or have now. I'll have two at our OGCA show in September in a CHG display.

After WWI it more than likely was used by the Cincinnati workhouse until they were sold for a grand total of $10.00 in 1946.

Al did an article on them years ago in the newsletter.
