Re: H&R OFFICERS MODEL SERIAL DATE?

I use a sling on my H&R OM. It is one made for muzzle loaders. The rear is a cover that goes over the butt and the front loops around the barrel and cleaning rod. It is very serviceable and handy. It also looks "time period". May not have been used "back in the day" but it works for me. I also have taken the grip adapter off the LBH carbine and have it on the OM. I have installed a M1879 Type III rear sight (original R) and have put a Beech front sight on the OM. I also had BB problems with both my OM and LBH and have replaced the entire BBs with originals which solved the problems. This makes my H&R OM about as close to an original as probable and it is probably my most shot rifle. Sometimes I think a guy just shouldn't be allowed that much fun.

The sling is available at Midways; Oklahoma lace on sling, #156-594
