Interesting points. But I am not sure you have won me over. Just to be safe I would not tell anyone on a forum who is asking questions, "its ok to load into the rifling". I am not so sure your "pressure" tests are valid enough and if ok, in another rifle that might not be the case. Breech loading a bullet is only done in Schutzen type firing and I dont know enough about that, to me thats going too far. As far as Lee's HB design, Spence seemed pretty convinced the 405 HB needed to expand to seal the bore, but I dont remember offhand if he was specfic about the Lee bullet. I cast my own and dont shoot the HB anymore. As far a 1.5 MOA in an original Trapdoor, anything is possible, but as I stated they do not have a huge following the BPCR, BPTR matches, I just dont want to give the average collector of TD's who wants to shoot it every so often the expectation he is going to buy "cowboy" loads and shoot 1.5 MOA, forget it, it "aint" happening.
