The early rifle SHOULD have a short wrist, but the inletting must still be tight to the sides of the receiver. If you can shove a couple of business cards in on either side, then it has been changed. What rear sight is fitted to it? Should be the M1877 (like an 1879 but without windage adjustment)

When I said the M1888 was "common", I meant OF those guns you listed. John is entirely correct about the production quantities - the RRBs are less often found than regular rifles.

I don't envy your task. I'm facing much the same dilemma - I really HAVE to thin out, and it isn't going to be easy. One thing for sure, I will extensively photograph anything that I sell.
