Hi Steve, Did you make your thimble belt from a Civil War era waist belt? I used to go to encampments with guys who made theirs that way, with either canvas or leather loops. Of course, you know what happens with leather loops and brass cartridges. I knew one guy who made a cartridge sleeve out of canvas that slipped over an 1859 waist belt. I don't know how correct it was, but it worked and looked nice. Anyway, it's nice to hear from another Infantryman. I was beginning to think that I was the only one interpreting the post-Civil War Infantry. Most everyone I know is either Cavalry or Civil War. Regards, Ken
