Good morning, Jim,

Here is a summary of what I found (or didn't find) in checking SRS VOLUMES 1-4 (VOLUME-4 being the full 1999 Edition):

VOLUME-1:

The closest S/N was 9529, A Model Code "73R", Date-of-Record: 09-17-1875 and associated with "7TH INFANTRY (DAMAGED)"

VOLUME-2:

The closest S/Ns were 9223 (date: 10-14-1880) and 9672 (date: 01-21-1878), both listed as Model Code "73R".

VOLUME-3:

The closest S/N was 9585, a Model Code "73R" with a Date-of-Record of 04-29-1879 and associated with the "14th INFANTRY".

VOLUME-4:

The (2) closest S/Ns here were:

9553 (listed as a "68R") and

9623 (listed as a "73C" [a CARBINE] with a late Date-of-Record of 07-07-1926 and associated, rather interestingly, with "The H F BAR RANCH" (hmmmmmmmm).

Sorry, but nothing any closer than that!

Best regards,

PETE
