Before and after pics would be great. I didn't think of that either, with mine.

When my rifle first arrived, it was quite a let-down. Cam latch spring broken, and a light colored varnish slopped all over everything. Didn't look good. Bore looked terrible too, but then cleaned up great.

But there was a jewel underneath, and it turned out/into a very very nice example of a 1873. Not "correct" anymore, (refinished twice now) not a collector's rifle, just a nice looking shooter and hunting rifle.
