Re: Serial Numbers

There is no complete total list of TD's and SA's lost at the LBH. There are, however, sporadic serial numbers recorded which are of interest. Such as Colt revolver 5634, lost by Sergeant George Wylie of Company D, 7th Cavalry in November, 1875. And there are 3 Colt's recorded as being "rendered unserviceable" at the LBH fight and returned to Springfield Armory for evaluation/repair. One of these revolvers, number 5773, is known to exist in a Swiss collection. There was also a Colt backstrap dug at the LBH in the 1980's. I forget the exact sn but I believe it was in the 6,000 range. I can find the exact number if it's important.
