The firing pin spring was eliminated quite early, serial number 85,000, due to problems with them braking and jamming the pin, so yours most likely never had one unless someone installed it later which is unlikely. I don't know of any schematics on line but a very good source of information on the trapdoor is the book, "The 45-70 Springfield" by Poyer and Riesch, is an excellent source of information including schematics, parts identification, and maintenance and repair. If you are looking for parts, you are on the right site. Contact Al and he might just have what you are looking for or if not, maybe he could refer you to someone who does.
