I see that thing is still for sale.

I'm not at all convinced that there are any SA parts on it, nor am I even sure it is .50-70. I'll grant that the front sight looks SA, but that is about it.

The buttstock looks like it was cut down from something else - what is that filler ahead of the buttplate tang. I'd almost say that it was cut for a Hotchkiss plate at one time - this is reinforced by the flat top surface, present on all my Hotchkiss's, and long range, which does not occur on a regular musket stock, or on either of my SA-Sharps.

Not a musket sight, and the barrel looks to be homogeneous just forward of the shoulder, where both my conversions slow a clear weld line.

I certainly do not know what it is, but I'm afraid I cannot buy into this latest idea either. IMHO, it's either REALLY rare, or a serious POS - no middle ground. No sale here, though!
