Thomas

The short answer is NO!!!!

The cost to make the master pattern will run about $400.00. The stock used to make the master pattern would need to be "altered" with blocks of wood glued to it for the process. Not too many guys are willing to sacrifice their stock for the cause.

Duplicates are running about $200.00 plus depending on the grade of wood. The carver supplies the blanks & charges according to grade I select.

Assuming that you could find a pristine Rifle/Cadet barrel & receiver to do the build, I would guess that based on the two rifles I have completed, the COST (not retail) would be in the $2500.00 to $3000.00 range. Checkering alone was over $300.00 apiece.

My rifle #2 will be on GunBroker.com for a reserve of $3200.00. That's if I can part with it!

Rifle #1 will not be for sale. Too much sweat & tears went into it.

Ernie
