Re: Fake Carbine Stock on eBay

follow up on this.

Just to see what he would do and to satisfy my own curiosity, I contacted the seller and very nicely told him what he had. I also said that he might want to think about rewording his description, or at least make mention of this stocks rifle heritage.

His response was that he never said anywhere in the description that it was a "GENUINE" carbine stock, and that he had put enough pictures of it with the description so that anyone who was knowledgeable regarding these stocks would clearly know that it was not genuine. But then he also said that he would put the money aside for awhile if the person who winds up buying it wants to return it for a refund.

I took that to mean that if the purchaser does not know, then he as the seller is not going to tell them. And as far as he is concerned, if the buyer never finds out until it is too late, much the better.

This just goes to further reinforce that we all need to be VERY careful when dealing with purchases made sight unseen.

By the way, as of 10:30AM, 22 APR. the bidding now stands at $154.05 with eight bids, and still has a little over two days left to go.

I think that someone is going to be more than a little upset when this thing arrives in the mail.
