Hi, I am new to this so pardon me if I am going about this is the wrong way. I have heard the experts are on this site and as such am posing a question regarding the Springfield 1873 that I have. Is there any definitive way to find if the gun I have was actually used by the 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Big Horn or not. Serial numbers near mine have been documented but not sure how to proceed. It is in excellent condition and serial number is 17415, I know 17425 was in it but not sure how to proceed. I can send pictures etc and the articles I have on this particular piece. Thank you
