You know, Jim, what you saw in that book is what I've noticed throughout the years. There are some "discrepancies" like this one out there. Ernie's comment about how the '79 site was sturdier than the '84 might get one to wonder if the '84 got broken somehow and was replaced at arsenal or depot level with a '79 sight. I know there are a lot of bubbas out there but what would be their motive for such a switch? Of course we know that if the gun were sent back to SA, it would have been repaired with a Buffington. Thanks.
