Re: US Model 1878 Springfield?

Please Mr. Glasscock, you have no need to feel bad at all. After I got home from work the other night and read your comment, I went back and re-read MY comment. Upon reading it then, I also thought it was a bit crass. Again I want to apologize to you especially, Ernie. It was not meant to be so, but I found myself wondering, Wow! Did I actually write THAT? My thought when I was writing it was about how many times, even after all these years of owning and shooting these old trapdoors, I STILL sometimes find myself in a "Homer Simpson" DOH! moment and use the term ramrod even though I know it really is incorrect to a certain extent. Thank you Ernie for pointing out that even the MANUALS of the time referred to it as a ramrod. I did not know that! And, never fear about my leaving this site. You never know when this old Fox will be found lurking around this message board. And hey! At least when I'm here, you know that your chickens are safe at home!

;-D

Fox.

Out.
