Positive cam rifle

For those who have never seen one of these GREAT rarities, Al has just listed one for sale, from a private collection. It (415502) is the lowest number presently known in the "production series". There are a couple of "prototypes" with lower numbers, but there is some question as to their authenticity.

The 100 PC rifles were made in a VERY tight series, from about 415500 to about 415620. I have logged 40+ examples, which will all be listed in my second book. Owner's names will be kept private, of course. If any one has one, and has not contacted me, NOW would be a good time!

My own specimen is 415520, bought on this site a couple of years ago, from a gentleman in Hawaii, who turned out to be from a family which had once (60+ years before) been very close to mine, but with whom we had lost touch after my father passed away. One of my best gun-collecting memories.

This same latch design was also used on the fifteen .30 caliber rifles, none of which actually "failed", though the blocks sometimes had to be hammered open!
