Do you know the date they got the 50/70 Sharps? The four companies mentioned a post below had them July 2nd, 1869 when they arrived at Ellis. Spencers can be found pretty common at the Bozeman trail forts, but there are two types of firing pin marks that dominate the archaeological recoveries, one I know to be fired in a Spencer, the other a broad thin rectangular impression different than the Spencer I shoot and own. Don't know exactly what gun fired it.
