Custer Range Carbine

Posted by Larry Weinbrenner on Sunday, 13 March 2011, at 12:06 p.m., in response to Re: Pre-1873 Carbines, posted by John Gross on Sunday, 13 March 2011, at 10:33 a.m.

A couple of interesting carbines are coming up in the James Julia auction this week plus a number for Dick if he doesn't already have it.

1. Item #2461; a 79 T.D. carbine serial #126077. I'm not sure if this is the carbine that stirred so much interest on this site about 4 years ago or not, but it has an SRS letter & documentation showing that it was issued to two different Indian scouts during it's military service.

2. Item #2462; a 73 T.D. carbine serial #39006, a Custer range number.

Will be interesting to see what they bring.
