Hi (again) Tom,

And I forgot to address your question about the lack of a cartouche on the Carbine S/N 452669. According to Al's "MODEL 1884 CARBINE PRODUCTION" Table (Page 273 in BOOK II), the gun would have been produced in roughly mid-1889.

Ernie Brandt (my problem son) can pin-point it much closer than that for you.
