You have a U.S. Springfield Model 1868 Rifle, caliber .50-70, made in 1869. The date on the lockplate is 1863 (1868 does not exist).

Value, if in decent shape, with the bayonet, approx. $800 -$1000, give or take. About 52,000 of that model were made, most of them in 1870 - some CW-era parts were reused in their fabrication.
