Well, the problem is not so much whether it is "real", as what model it is.

Just by those marks you have eliminated all of the .58 and .50 caliber versions, and established that it is almost certainly .45 caliber (though .30 and 20ga are still open at this point) and made later than 1875.

Serial number (across top rear of receiver next to hammer - which may need to be lifted to read last digit) and barrel length (22", 24", 26", 28", 29.6" or 32.6") measured inside from muzzle to face of closed breech, will tell us a lot more. Also, what is the EXACT marking on the top of the breechblock (such as US/Model/1884)?
