You apparently have a Model 1868 Rifle, .50-70, made in 1869. While not a conversion of a complete rifle which had existed previously, MANY parts were altered or re-used from the huge stock of CW muskets on hand. This explains the 1863 lockplate. However, the rifle, as it presently exists, was not used in the Civil War.

Have no idea what any "lead weight" would be. The stock should have an iron tip at the muzzle, to protect the wood from wear, but that's about it.
